INSPIRATION

For this design, I wanted to shy away from getting inspiration from the normal and famous West African prints and local South African prints (i.e shweshwe fabrics). I decided to create my own inspired African print from scratch.

I’ve blended and fused a few shapes and lines, to give my print a kaleidoscopic look/feel. All the colour in the print (except for the brown colour) were inspired by the South African flag colour palette.

INSPIRATION

This design was inspired by the Ndebele culture style/geometric shapes. Although Even though my intention was to create my own geometric shape style, I did however borrow some inspiration from some of their geometric shapes to their colour palette. I wanted my print to have abit of a gigantic, bold and colourful look. All 6 colours from this print were inspired by the South African flag colour palette.
